KAILAS FUGA Air 8 IV Review | Lightweight Trail Running Vest
I’ve been testing the KAILAS FUGA Air 8 IV over a couple of shorter trail runs so far, and my first impressions have been really positive.
With an 8-litre capacity and weighing around 220g in a size M, it’s impressively light while still offering plenty of useful storage. The vest uses 90% highly breathable mesh, and I’ve found it genuinely comfortable out on the trail.
One of the standout features is the ADF (All-round Dial Fit) system. It allows you to quickly fine-tune the fit, helping the vest sit securely and close to the body. There’s also the BI-FIX system for stabilising the soft flasks, 14 storage compartments, space for a 1.5L hydration bladder, and plenty of options for carrying everything you need on the move.
So far, I’ve found it light, secure and really comfortable to run in. It sits nicely without feeling restrictive, and on the shorter trails I’ve tested it on, I’ve experienced very little unwanted movement.
I’m also a big fan of the colour. Dark trail vests have been a staple for me over the years, so the FUGA Orange and white is a refreshing change. It looks different, stands out and brings a bit more colour to the trails.
The bigger test is still to come. I’m looking forward to packing the Air 8 out to its full capacity, taking it on some longer-distance runs and seeing how the comfort, storage and stability perform after several hours on the trail.
These are still early impressions, but it’s a vest I can already see myself reaching for more and more. I’m excited to put some serious miles into it and see how it holds up over time.
