5 great podcasts to listen to while out running
This selection of running podcasts will undoubtedly bring further enjoyment to your running routine. They might also help you to run longer and quicker too.
Listen to Podcasts are perfect for runners, and a long run provides us with the opportunity to catch up with our favourite box set, get stuck into a novel or find inspiration from others.
As we run along pounding the pavement or trails and add more and more miles to the running bank. It provides an excellent excuse to reach for a set of headphones, block out the world around us and enjoy something new and exciting.
With so many varieties of podcasts out there it could prove not very easy which one to choose. To make things a little easier, I have come up with my favourite 5 Podcasts in no particular order.
Naturally, I could have chosen many more, but these are the ones I am most likely to use and listen too out on my next long run.
The Runner's World UK Podcast
The Runner's World UK Podcast is a great listen and a Podcast high on my 'listen too' list. The programme started as a monthly podcast but thankfully is now weekly. New episodes are uploaded every Tuesday.
Rick Pearson and Ben Hobson host the Podcast, and it has many guest appearances from other team members as well as a great line-up of special guests.
It is well worth a listen and perfectly fits as a motivator into any long run. Listen Here
TED Talks Health
These great Podcasts see a motivating series of lectures by a global community of deep thinkers, curated under the banner of Technology, Entertainment and Design. I love this Podcast; it is so inspiring, and I always think of these Podcasts as a chance to listen to some of the smartest people on the planet – with no tuition fee.
The Rambling Runner
One both for and about dedicated amateur runners, Matt Chittim's excellent show goes out to all of us who try to balance our passion for running with our jobs, families, friends and everything else life throws at us. Listen Here
Desert Island Discs
Although somewhat old, it does have a wonderfully soothing feel to it. The combination of expert interviewing and the disarming power of music delivers rare glimpses into the lives and souls of famous actors, Nobel Prize-winning scientists, athletes, and many more.
The Podcast has a catalogue dating back to 1942 and new episodes airing every week; you will never run dry.
Peter Crouch Podcast
#backstronger. Peter Crouch, Tom Fordyce and Chris Stark are back with their guide on how to be a professional footballer. Episodes include insight on everything from dressing rooms, transfers, keeping on the right side of your manager and where to sit on the team bus - plus your footballer confessions.
